Facility Specifications

World Courier’s investigational drug depots are state-of-the-art facilities that meet all relevant GMP guidelines. Five of the facilities have been in operation since 2005 and, along with newer depots, have been expanded on several occasions to keep up with growing client demand.

  • Full GMP compliant storage facilities in all the depots with validated areas for investigational drugs and medical devices.
  • ISO 9001:2008 certified
  • Storage of clinical trial materials in the following temperature ranges in each of the facilities.
    - controlled ambient (+15°C to +25°C)
    - refrigerated (+2°C to +8°C)
    - frozen (-20°C)
    - deep frozen (-70°C) on demand
  • Validated areas for kits & recalled drugs “ambient not temp. controlled” area available.
  • Separate storage lockers for each protocol, designed to ensure optimum control and confidentiality.
  • Separate lockers for both active and recalled drugs.
  • “Redundant” system (independent multiple systems) of temperature detection data loggers with memory and graphic display for each temperature.

 

Lockers in GMP area
  • Ambient (15°-25°):
    Controlled temperature storage in "exclusive use" lockers
    - Lockers with maximum capacity of 2m3 equal to 4m2 to 6m2 in shelves.
    - Mini-lockers with capacity of 0.5m3 equivalent to 1,2m2 in shelves.
  • Cold chamber (2°-8°):
    Controlled temperature storage in "exclusive use" lockers
    - Lockers with maximum capacity of 1m3 equal to 2m2 to 3m2 in shelves.
    - Mini-lockers with capacity of 0.3m3 equivalent to 1m2 in shelf.

 

In GMP area
  • Freezers (-15°/ -25°) sub-divided in shelves with backup equipment (always on)
  • Ultra cool freezers ( -60°/-85°) with independent subunits available
  • Lockers and racks: designed to maintain confidentiality
  • Multiple remote back up systems telephone alarm, light display and sound alarm ensure the temperature is maintained within the set range.
  • Permanent security 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
  • Full time pharmacists on staff.
